HR Foundations and legal compliance

Get set up correctly from day one as an employer. Make sure you have the documents and information you need to comply with legal minimum standards, set clear expectations of performance and behaviour, and manage your people effectively.

Experience tells us that all employers benefit from having the following documents in place:

  • Employment agreements – this is a legal requirement.
  • Guidance on complying with wage, time and leave record keeping requirements - this is the most common minimum entitlement area employers struggle to fully comply with.
  • Letter of offer – to present a job offer to the prospective employee.
  • Position descriptions/job descriptions for all the roles they employ – these set clear expectations of performance and accountability for each role.
  • Code of Conduct/House Rules – these set general expectations of conduct and performance for the business and help to set your organisation’s culture.
  • Conduct and performance policy – this explains how problems in these areas are addressed.

We offer these documents as a package, for $1,250 plus GST. Whilst all employers have some common needs in these areas we tailor the documents to your business so that they work for you rather than merely fulfil a compliance requirement (the package includes up to 5 position descriptions and one standard employment agreement you can use for all employees).

Alternatively, we can provide these documents individually if you already have some in place that you are happy with.

Some employers may require additional policies or procedures based on their industry and the roles they employ. For example, if you have sales people completing significant travel it may be sensible to have a travel and expenses policy.

Equally, if you have working arrangements that make minimum standards compliance more difficult, for example if your people work variable hours or on variable rates of pay, you may need additional support in this area.

Contact us to arrange your free initial consultation where we can discuss a package that will work for your business.
